I was born on October 10, 1948, in Kansas City, Missouri. My family moved to Liberty, Missouri, while in my senior year of high school. I graduated from Liberty High School in 1966 and attended Missouri Southern State College, now Missouri Southern State University, where I majored in psychology.
I came to Utah in July of 1976 and returned home in July of 1978 after serving a mission for my church. I came back out to Utah after only being home for 11 days.
I have been married to the former Dianne Ruth for almost 29 years and have two children. We have lived in West Jordan since 1993. I have been in sales all of my adult life and was self-employed as a licensed mortgage broker from 1997 until recently.
I filed for West Jordan City Council in 2003 and ran an aggressive campaign — winning by only 40 votes. I gained a great deal of knowledge about municipal government and was open and accessible all four years that I served. I worked with the West Jordan Chamber of Commerce and have always understood how valuable business is to our economy.
